Julio Teheran Trying to Stay Undefeated Wednesday Night

The Gwinnett Braves are breathing a major sigh of relief after Tuesday night’s win over second place Charlotte. Tim Hudson (2-0) made the start for the G-Braves and was very solid. The righty allowed just one earned run off six hits, while he struck out four and walked just two hitters en route to his second win with Gwinnett. The G-Braves bullpen allowed three runs in the ninth inning and loaded the bases before lefty Dusty Hughes could get out of the jam, as the G-Braves slipped past the Knights, 5-4.

Currently, the Gwinnett Braves possess the second best record in the International League with 13 wins and just six losses. The only team with a better record are the Boston Red Sox Triple-A affiliate, Pawtucket Red Sox who are 15-5 on the season. The G-Braves lead the IL South Division by three games over their current opponent, the Charlotte Knights. Norfolk and Durham both have six wins each, with Durham already registering 14 losses in 2012 after winning the IL South last year.

The G-Braves have two more games at Coolray Field on their current three-game home stand before heading onto the road for eight games. So far this season, Gwinnett is 8-1 at home and is really capitalizing off their top-ranked pitching staff in the International League. The G-Braves pitching will carry this team, but the offense is what will separate them from the rest of the pack.
