G-Braves Notes for 5.1.12 at Columbus

The only thing that could keep the Gwinnett Braves from a shot at their 18th win in April turned out to be rain last night as the finale of the series at Toledo was washed out.  The G-Braves and Mud Hens will make the game up as part of a doubleheader sometime in the upcoming May 11-14 series.

Right-hander Julio Teheran (2-1, 3.78), originally scheduled to throw last night, gets an extra day and will now start the opener of a four-game series at Columbus tonight.  We’ll see if that turns out to be a good thing, as the two-time defending IL champion Clippers currently sport the league’s best offense (.287 team average).  They’re also in the top five in home runs, having slugged 25 over 24 games so far this year.  Lefty David Huff (0-1, 9.00) makes his second start tonight for Columbus.
