The Gwinnett Braves saw their five-game winning streak snapped as the Lehigh Valley IronPigs won 6-3 on Wednesday night at Coolray Field. Dusty Hughes entered the game with the score tied 3-3 in the eighth, but ended up with the loss as the IronPigs scored three times in the frame. With the win, Lehigh Valley snapped a six-game losing streak.
Ernesto Mejia has been on fire as of late as he led the way for Gwinnett Wednesday, finishing the night 3-for-5 with his team-leading 14th double and two RBIs. Mejia tied the score at 1-1 in the first inning with his double scoring Durango, then gave the G-Braves a temporary 2-1 lead in the third with an RBI single scoring Felix Pie. He reached for a third and final time on an infield single that helped set up Durango’s tying run in the seventh. Durango went 1-for-3 with two runs scored, while Pie went 2-for-5 with a run scored.
