The Gwinnett Braves began their nine-game homestand in eight days on Thursday night with a loss to Columbus. Jair Jurrjens made one mistake in the game and it wound up costing him and the G-Braves when Russ Canzler blasted a grand slam in the sixth for the Clippers 4-0 victory. The G-Braves will host the Columbus Clippers (June 14-17) for five games and the International League West leading Indianapolis Indians (June 18-21) for four games.
Gwinnett (35-32) and Columbus (31-35) will play a doubleheader at Coolray Field on Friday night, first pitch of game one scheduled for 5:05 PM. The doubleheader will consist of two seven-inning contests separated by a half-hour break, with Gwinnett to act as the home team in game one and the road team in game two.
Right-handers Todd Redmond (5-4, 3.52) and Eric Junge (3-6, 4.54) will start for the G-Braves, while the Clippers counter with left-hander Chris Seddon (7-3, 3.59) and right-hander David Huff (3-2, 3.74). Both games will be broadcast on WDUN 550 AM and 102.9 FM in Gainesville, GA with Tony Schiavone calling the play-by-play.

Actually Jurrjens pitched strikes that were called BALLS in the 6th – I was there – I saw it. It was the REF who made the mistake and JJ paid for it.
