Video: Truck Yeah…That’s My Walk-up Music

The original 26th round pick of the Minnesota Twins during the 1999 MLB amateur draft Terry Tiffee is impressing at the Triple-A level, exhibiting his third base skills. The 33-year old has plenty in the tank, as he has played just four Major League seasons, three with the Twins and one with the Los Angeles Dodgers. This season however, the third baseman is playing within the Atlanta Braves organization.

Tiffee has been playing minor league baseball since 2000 when he was a member of Quad Cities. Just a few weeks ago, the right-hander was playing Independent baseball in the Atlanta League where he was hitting .297 with 11 home runs and 46 RBI in just 69 games this season with Lancaster.

Atlanta waisted little time purchasing the contract of the 6-foot, 2-inch big bopper, signing him recently. Since joining the Gwinnett Braves, Tiffee has been a solid addition with a great prowess for pop. Tiffee already has nine hits in his first eight games with the team including a home run on Thursday against the Durham Bulls that is drawing comparisons to the long blast at Coolray Field in 2012 by the Braves Dan Uggla.

Thursday I also had the pleasure of meeting Tiffee in the G-Braves clubhouse. Prior to the game, he requested that we play Tim McGraw’s “Truck Yeah” for his walk-up music this season. Ironically, in his second at-bat of the game with McGraw echoing throughout Lawrenceville, Tiffee launched a ball that some feel still has not landed yet. Regardless, the third baseman is a welcomed addition to the G-Braves offense as he will be able to allow Ruben Gotay to play his natural position of second base. Either way, Tiffee is earning his playing time with each game, truck yeah!
